There are three dorm buildings at Ausflucht University. The Blatt building, the Eichel building, and the Baum building.
The Eichel and Baum buildings have three floors, including a basement. The Blatt building has four floors including a basement. In all buildings each floor shares two large bathrooms. The bathrooms are equipped with ten shower stalls, ten sinks, sauna, and two bathtubs. The floors are co-ed but the bathrooms are NOT! Each floor has two laundry facilities with three dryers and three washers so make sure you get your laundry done quickly! There is a sink in the laundry room as well as a line to dry things if you don't want to use a dryer. The washers and dryers are free to use but you must provide your own soap.
There are roughly 30 to 40 rooms on each floor depending on the building and the size of the rooms. The Blatt building has fewer rooms, around 30, and larger rooms because it is the newest building and the most modern. The Eichel building has around 36 rooms and they are smaller. The Baum building is the oldest dorm and it has 40 rooms, each room is quite smaller than the other dorms but the Baum building is much more historical and has the feel of comfort inside from so many people living there. Each student shares a room with one other person; each room is equipped with a sink, 2 beds, 2 closets, and 2 desks inside. The larger rooms also have a small balcony and room for a lounge chair. Each dorm shares a common kitchen which is on the ground floor and has cabinets, two large refrigerators, sinks, counters, cook tops, and larder, each student can cook for themselves and provide their own food or each at the eateries around town or the small cafeteria on campus.

BIKE PATHS
Each dorm is about 3 miles from the main campus and most students use bikes to travel around town. It is easiest to travel by bike because of the bike paths located everywhere in the city as well as campus and the limited parking space available to students and staff on campus.
Each students has a key that gets them into the dorm building, the door is ALWAYS LOCKED so that people who do not belong in the dorms cannot come in unless with a student. The student’s key also gets them into their room, and the basement of their dorm. NO STUDENT IS ALLOWED ACCESS TO THE ROOF OF ANY BUILDING!
The basement in each building has been converted into a recreation/study room for all students to enjoy. There are games, a TV, and books for students to share, as well as two computers and Internet access. Couches and chairs and tables are readily available so please feel free to use this place to study or hang out with friends.

THE BAUM BUILDING
The Baum building was the first dorm building built when the university opened in the 1800’s. Its architecture is similar to the main building of the university and has many different rooms than the other newer dorms. The Baum building is the dorm closest to the main University. This building has a small library located on the second floor housing antique paintings, tables, chairs, and even some very rare books. This building also has a servant’s passage that leads underneath the dorm to the main University, this passage is not known by many but can be found by those who look hard enough. This building is said to be haunted.

THE EICHEL BUILDING
The Eichel building was built in the late 1800’s and is closest in architecture to the Baum building. It has a passageway built underneath it that connects the building to the Baum building, and later when it was built to the Blatt building. The Eichel building is farthest away from campus and provides parking for all students who live in the dorm.

THE BLATT BUILDING
The Blatt building is the newest dorm, built in the late 1900’s it was mainly constructed to house students who came to be part of the research facility in Ausflucht, but other students stay here as well. It is closest to the new Research Building and shares parking with them as well.
All students must live in the dorms. No exceptions.
